MARCELLO VARGETTO
He graduated in opera singing with distinction from the “A. Corelli” Conservatory in Messina. He deepened his knowledge of the Renaissance and Baroque repertoire with Claudine Ansermet and Gabriel Garrido. With his ensemble Elyma in 1990 he began a collaboration with important and award-winning recording, concert and opera projects. With Rinaldo Alessandrini in 1992 he took part in the recording of the Fourth Book of Madrigals by Claudio Monteverdi, which won the Gramophone Award. He is currently a member of Paolo Da Col's ensemble Odhecaton and Giovanni Acciai's Nova Ars Cantandi, winning the Abbiati Prize in both 2018 (Odhecaton) and 2019 (Nova Ars Cantandi). He has recorded a hundred CDs for various record companies (Archiv, Arcana, Tactus) some of which have been awarded the most prestigious international prizes (Choc de la Musique, Diapason d'or).
